I don't think he's a good singer, but he was a hell of a basketball player.

Slinky Vagabond singer and fashion designer Keanan Duffty asked for and got the chance to put lyrics and vocals to two VR songs in a bid for the lead singer position. He said the songs came named "Motha Fucka" and "Clappy". The result of his work produced two songs named "Fear No Evil" and "Prima Donna". When asked if SLASH thought Duffty would be selected, he could not remember Duffty out of all the singers they have auditioned. So, it seems the search goes on!

The interesting thing (beside that Slash didn't even remember the guy's name) is that 'Motha Fucka' was one of the tracks they were working on during the Libertad sessions, but it didn't make the album. I wonder how many tracks they think have potential, but due to Scott's attitude against GN'R-sounding song, was left off.

Motha Fucka sounded really great musically, but that Keanan guy's contributions SUCKED big time!
You can find his audition on youtube.

Rumors were flying that VR would be signing up Million Dollar Reload's singer, Phil Conalane as their singer. The Irishman was flattered but said he had not been invited to join. When talking to SLASH, he told us he had no idea who Conalane was.

The new issue of Maxim (I know...real great source for music) has Spacehog frontman, Royston Langdon listed as their lead singer on their "most anticipated" section. Problem is, it looks like they took an old VR photo with Scott and photo-shopped Langdon's head on Scott's body.

I just got the issue and saw that, too. I was just coming in here to post it. Yeah, after the Black Crowes debacle, what little "credibility" this magazine had went out the window. I just look at it for the perty girlies really. Still, I'm one of the few who's long championed the addition of Langstone to this lineup. As always, we'll see.

Someone needs to fucking show Slash who Phil is real quick. He seems to have everything in terms of singing, lyrics... I haven't listened to his stuff that closely. Even so, they aren't going to find anyone who fits their style better, I don't think. And, the lyrics can't be any worse than Weiland's. When he referenced Transformers, I almost pissed myself.
