haha its weird for me cuz my personal involvement it this is nonexistant...but i almost want hillary to win the nomination just cuz you guys are so sure shes gonna lose...shes only 69 delegates back with nearly 700-800 more required to secure the victory..this race will be going down to the wire imo

has a race ever been this close before?

It's funny you say that, because about two months ago, everyone thought Hillary was going to win, but I was a believer in Obama. Mainly because I've followed him here in Illinois for years now. Many years  he's been a lawmaker here. He actually has more lawmaking experience than Hillary, even though she tries to make it sound like she is more experienced. Being First Lady doesn't mean you're qualified to be president.

The reason she is going to have such a hard time catching Obama is because the delegates are divided up by the percentage of votes the candidate gets. When Obama wins, he's getting 60 to 70 percent of the vote. When Hillary wins, which isn't nearly as often, she's getting 50 to 60 percent of the vote, not enough to offset the delegates Obama wins when he's still getting 40 to 45 percent of the vote.

where do you get your stats from? hmm

just curious cuz CNN.com says the popular vote is 44% Clinton, 43% Obama and 13% undecided and i think Yahoo says that Obama is up by 1% hardly the 10% you say

in other news...McCain needs to clear this mess up that just surfaced

Overall popular vote doesn't matter. You need to check state by state.

Go here, and select a state and look at the results.

If you click on Wisconsin, for instance, you see Obama got 58% of the vote to Hillary's 41%, thus he got a lot more delegates.

The most recent race Hillary won was New Mexico. She only won 49% to Obama's 48%, so, she only got one more delegate than he did. She needs to win by big margins to catch up.

If she only wins Texas and Ohio by a couple of percentage points, it's not gonna help her. If she loses, it's over, because many of the primaries left will go to Obama.

latest polls show Hilary leading in both Texas (by 2%) and Ohio (by 11%) according to CNN.com

That was a good debate. I actually felt sorry for Hillary during her "change by xerox" statement because you could tell she thought it was gonna be one of those infamous debate comments, but it backfired. Going on the attack is a bad strategy for her, and I think she finally realized that last night. People are tired of political games and the same old shit. The economy is in the tank and no one wants to hear these people flame one another.
