What don't you like about it?

Don't mean to be argumentative - but Back in the Saddle into Love in an Elevator would start my night right, and Dream on into Walk this Way would ring my bell to finish off. I would go if they come back here.

There's some pretty big songs missing.

On the other hand, that set is trying to cover all eras in a nutshell.

Kind of confirms they are vanishing for a bit.

Yeah it does.

Looks like The General was tossed on with Perhaps for us hardcores to have something.

Did you guys see Aerosmith's opening night set list?

Yikes.

I understand doing a condensed set but damn...can't get it any better than that?!?

Yep.  I'm seeing Aerosmith Wednesday and was very disappointed seeing this tiny set list.  I saw them co-tour with Kiss 20 years ago and was very unimpressed then.  This set list isn't what I was hoping for, especially after the setlist Guns is giving.

The least they could do is have a big list of alternates and rotate more songs each night.

If I was going to see them I'd be mega pissed if What It Takes wasn't performed.

Back In The Saddle a killer opener though. Amazing song.

These aging acts are running into the Elton John dilemma...too many hits, not enough time.

In Aerosmith's case they should only do the big hits even if it means it knocks some 70s material out of the set.

A lot of people going at this stage are there for 87-98 + Sweet Emotion and Dream On.

If I’m booking a farewell tour it will include Izzy and Steven but also Robin, Brain, and Buckethead.

Just throw a bone to everyone and charge what you want. Record the soundboards and release the multitracks so we can at least have Buckethead playing TWAT once and Robin playing Better.

I would also hold back the strongest single or two so I don’t really agree with James. We might be getting a 4-song EP now and another 4-song EP later. I think the discography officially closes with Chinese Democracy in 2008.

I would drag my testicles over several mile's of broken glass for this....
Fact.

If I'm Axl, I humble out, and do the above. It's basically the politican move of pleasing everyone.

And then from there, I work with Buckethead as a studio musician. Think the instrumental of "Sorry" with ideas from "Civil War" and the sample-heavy style of DJ Shadow. It's creative, it conserves his voice, and allows him to stay in the game. He *could* do this. But I think he's too addicted to fame and having his belly rubbed.

I don't begrudge him retiring peacefully after a troubled life and career. But he left a lot, a lot, a lot on the field, and that's disappointing as a fan of his. But at the end of the day, those are the musings of a cowboy still looking for his moment in the sun, not one ready to hang up his spurs.

It would be cool for forum fans but wouldn’t sell tickets. Izzy and Adler for a couple shows would but the set would be wildly limited unless they are guesting every night.

I'm not sure there is much point in fantasy booking shows at this point. Sadly I think we may be watching the last one's.

The last shows in late October have been extended to one festival show on the 5th of November, and the advertising for that specifically states it's there last show for a long time..

How much time is left?

If they're calling it a day, please say. Don't leave the fan base hanging for years thinking they might get a new album.

One the meantime, Watch Beta and Fernandos clothing line go into hyperdrive next year!
