Have a blast! Give us a recap when you’re done!
Imagine if you get “The General”!
No The General fuck this band!!!
Jk. Show was amazing. They’ll always get my money because 1) they are my favorite band and 2) it’s a night away from the wife and kids!!
I do regret shelling out face value for the tickets because they could have been had for a song day of the show. I mentioned I was impressed by the crowd and I still am. After the packed house in Fenway in 21, I was worried it would be a little depressing to look around and see tranches of emptiness. That wasn’t the case. Pit was less crowded which was an absolute treat.
As for the band, I sense they genuinely enjoy playing with each other, and the new music definitely helps. Like, they’re finally back to being a band and not just feeling each other out to make sure it doesn’t go off the rails like much of the NITL tour felt like. It was great to see.
Axl’s vocals live are night and day from cell phone recordings. It is in no way a deterrent from the live performances. Great show.

It also rained fucking buckets for a good portion of the show. Made for a cool yet somehow also miserable experience.

Re: 2023 Tour Dates
I looked at the setlist for the Boston gig which i don't normally do. The post CD singles now outnumber the actual CD songs, at least for this show. I wonder if this means they may be phasing out some of those songs. The only one's played were CD & TIL
The last show of this tour is October 16th which is before the Perhaps 7"s get sent out. But it seems pretty likely we may be able to stream The General by that point. Make's me wonder if we will hear it live at all.
I tend to think we ain't. For one you can at least tell from that screaming part that it sounds like it might be a bitch to pull off live for Axl. Also what are the chances they will soundcheck the song and start doing it for just the last few shows of the tour.
Might be worth paying a bit of attention to soundchecks again though just in case.

Yeah and TIL isn't even a staple so that means it's really only the title track with minor rotations.
Legacy acts can't hit audiences over the head with too much unknown/new material. It makes sense to phase that stuff out to make room.
Hell... they're even pushing it with UYI deep cuts in front of casual crowds in the 2020s.
Edit
I don't think they'll play it. The timing is off.
Perhaps is the new song for this tour leg.
We're really lucky to even be getting it.

Re: 2023 Tour Dates
Browsing reddit and someone just posted this... Don't have time to screen shot stuff right now. Wonder what this is
I just heard Axl soundchecking/practicing (I live near Wrigley Field)
2023 World Tour
? I had to turn my AC off to hear better. meanwhile it's like 105 heat index outside. He is singing really low. Not sure what song it is. It sounds like something I never heard before but sort of like Civil War. I would walk closer, but I feel like I won't survive it. ?

Well we know they’re planning to release The General by October, so it could be that.

I didn't sound like that either. All I know is Axl was just repetitively going over some part of a song. And was singing very low.

Re: 2023 Tour Dates
Like how Axl lowered the perhaps vocals in the chorus maybe the general will come out with all deep vocals. hope not the screams sounded epic.
To me thats the issue with slash's plan to start fresh next year too. Like Axl of 2024 would be unwise to rely on his scream range the way previous Axl would.
