Vote for your least favourite track. The track with the most votes will be eliminated.

As far as the instrumentals go, try to imagine the track finished with vocals.

This is based on Rough Mixes Disc 3 only, not any other demo. If 2 tracks are tied, the 3rd wins.

Voting closes Thursday 19:00 GMT.

Vote off your least favourite track

State of Grace 52%
Oklahoma 33%
Hardschool 14%
Total votes: 21

I voted tactically on the last round with IRS. I won’t bring it over my heart to vote against either SOG or Oklahoma though. Hard School has to go.

I hear the NIN but there’s also element of late 90s Bowie but what a vocal performance from Axl, really moving through the gears. Hardschool is more of an old school GNR song, early Aerosmith.
Oklahoma is more the AC/DC thing or even Nirvana. Verse Chorus Verse Chorus. Both sound very old Guns in that are hard rock with a punk tinge.

Who is on Guitar here? If I close my eyes it’s Slash. They are very Slash parts, is that Bucket? Finck must be on SOG.

It’s tough. Everyone time I hear Hardschool it gets more awesome. How it hasn’t been released is criminal. I assume there is a plan. Having these kind of tracks in your pocket must be relaxing.

Although both Hardschool and Oklahoma are in a way what the fan base need, I find it hard to vote off SOG because it’s more interesting to me.

I hope the new album leaks before it comes out so if we can really confirm if hardschool will be on there?

Hardschool and Oklahoma are just fantastic. Very much like the Guns we're used to. State of Grace, something about it just doesn't hold up to close scrutiny. I can't place my finger on it.

I too wish I knew who was playing on these tracks. I can't pick out Bucket with 100% certainty, as much of an "expert" on Bucket that I am. None of his trademark tricks are apparent, unless I missed them.

I love buckets contributions on cd but bumblefoot was stealing buckets style on the album and I cant make out what bucket is playing on sog and Oklahoma but I think Oklahoma was before bucket

Bucket isn't on Oklahoma or State of Grace. Both March mixes of early tracks. Probably summer 99.

As for Hardschool, it's November 2000. Plenty of time for Bucket to add too it. I assumed the shredding towards the end was him?

I read Bucket re-recorded Oklahoma at some point?

So those or these are Finck mostly on guitar?

Wasn’t there a theory that Hardschool was also Jackie Chan recorded for a movie by Slash/Duff?

Slash seems to be saying he’s up for doing Axl’s material so it seems possible.

But who knows, Shadow and Crash Diet got passed over at some point.

Hardschool seems right up Slash’s street though. Maybe Finck was laying down Slash style parts. It must be easy for musicians to just play some GNR music then just improvise on it and get something in the same vein.
