Re: Mad at Nascar
With every new leak, I always find something new and interesting even if it's the same song. The vocals and guitar work on this one for example. I don't even remember the Madagascar that made the final album. This version I can point out and say hey this and that are kind of cool.
Re: Mad at Nascar
I like the channel cycling on the Madagascar Josh Version during the solo and MLK quote section.
It gives you a better taste of what each of them have to offer.
But that excluded, Brain's drums +3dB 'till I die..
BTW, this is the only track that really has "Brain's feel".
Re: Mad at Nascar
Here are the Cliff's Notes on Madagascar.
We have 5 versions so far.
The first 3 are the new leaks.
Madagascar (Old Josh Drums) (2001)
Josh on drums. Dry(er) mix vocals. MLK quotes minimal FX. Raw guitar sounds. FKA: Madagascar (2000)/Walker leakMadagascar (New Brain Drums) (2001)
Brain on drums. Different processing song-wide. Very similar to Josh version.Madagascar (2001)
Brain drums. Added FX and different mix on MLK section. Tons of outro FX.Madagascar (2007)
Added strings. Different processing song-wide.Madagascar (2008)
The Dizzy Reed bongos version. FKA: Antiquiet / Skwerl leak
I like the raw sounds of the Josh Freese version. It has a punk vibe to it. Fuck you, I don't have to play guitar well.
The Brain +3dB version is a close second. The drums sound like cannon fire. Gives it a jolt of energy.
YMMV.

Turn up the volume and plug in your speakers!
Let us give thanks to anonymous leakers!
Rally the GNR fans from their quarters!
Now is the time to fight against the hoarders!
Let us hear songs that Bob Ezrin abhorred!
Let us hear songs that Beltrami has scored!
Play them loud! Play them by day and by night!
And show Universal that Axl was right.
Thenk yew.
