While the project was hyped for eons, technically they're just like demos from any other bands we're fans of.

We're hearing a 00/01 version of Atlas and it's first press mention is like 2005. The later versions could sound a bit more fleshed out.

Neemo, Atlas definitely fits right in with Prostitute and Catcher in my opinion. I like both so I dig it.
I found a lot of these songs sounds "mainstreamish" so I guess the entire Axl is making a NIN style record was overblown. IRS and Rhiad have these wonderful funkish sections that I've been listening to. I think the material is more experimental (probably the wrong wrong) and probably a continuation of the progressive parts of the Illusion albums.

Yeah Prostirute came to mind for me too.
After a couple listens. Its got potential to have been ok. The vocals are bad & overall song just is not well put together.
I agree a polished mix could have a Soundgarden/STP vibe

In general the vocals are just "mushed in"... that's a criticism I've had of several Chinese tracks, so maybe there's a preference. I'd rather have everything else down a notch and the vocal more prominent. Axl was always so primary in the mix on the old records and sometimes he's fighting beneath other instruments.
Anyway, here's my take on the Atlas lyrics:

why isn't imsorry sharing the drums down atlas demo leak? it's one of the 4 atlas demos versions. not a fan thing.
