Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
polluxlm posted a couple great articles on Trump. Gives a great glimpse on why he's going to win. Those opposing Trump here do make some good points but like poluxlm said, I just don't see all this Trump hate everyone keeps talking about. Obviously some people don't like him since we have a few right here at Evo but its not widespread as the perception various media outlets attempt to portray.
Most of this country is sick of "politics as usual". Sounds familiar doesn't it? Candidates whip those empty words out every election. THIS time, the American people really mean it, the rise of Trump is proof of that, and as I've said multiple times, this moment is historic and is going to go down as a major turning point in this country's history.
That video is crazy. The media is like a chicken with its head cut off. Doesn't know what to do now that it's in a pickle.
Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
There have been a lot of democrats voting Trump in the primaries specifically so he would win. There's even evidence of people voting mainly to keep him out. I know the big wigs of the Tennessee Republican party, and I can tell you for a fact the big numbers coming in for the turnout, and why Rubio and Cruz were getting the numbers they did, were protest votes against Trump within the party. People who will not vote for him in a General Election, another reason they're mad at democrats for voting in republican primaries. But in all fairness, the republicans tried the same thing in 08 by voting Hilary over Obama.
I still have a weird vibe about Trump that I will keep to myself for now, but I would not be surprised if he decides to drop out at some point. I lived through Perot, and we'll see. Maybe Trump can win over white middle class workers, but we'll see how far that takes him.
There are no skeletons in his closet that will deter his fanbase. He could star in a kiddie porn and people will blindly follow him and justify it at this point. Him bragging he could literally getaway with murder is true, and very scary. He doesn't have to be honest, he doesn't have to state any kind of plan to back up the nonsense he spouts, he has not stated any policy whatsoever, and he can say and do the most vile things he wants... That's scary to me.
And he's much better in sound bytes. His speeches and debates are boring. He talks aimlessly, without saying anything, other than, literally, how great he is, how wealthy he is, how everyone loves him, etc. Even last night his speech was tedious.
Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
Well if you believe the polls the hate for Trump is stronger than the hate for anyone else.
But Trump would start at a disadvantage: Most Americans just really don’t like the guy.
Contra Rupert Murdoch’s assertion about Trump having crossover appeal, Trump is extraordinarily unpopular with independent voters and Democrats. Gallup polling conducted over the past six weeks found Trump with a -27-percentage-point net favorability rating among independent voters, and a -70-point net rating among Democrats; both marks are easily the worst in the GOP field. (Trump also has less-than-spectacular favorable ratings among his fellow Republicans.)
Favorability ratings can vary quite a bit from pollster to pollster, however, so I went back and collected a broader array of data. Specifically, I took an average of each candidate’s favorability ratings in polls from the Huffington Post Pollster database since Nov. 1.1
We’ve got an unpopular set of presidential candidates this year– Bernie Sanders is the only candidate in either party with a net-positive favorability rating — but Trump is the most unpopular of all. His favorability rating is 33 percent, as compared with an unfavorable rating of 58 percent, for a net rating of -25 percentage points. By comparison Hillary Clinton, whose favorability ratings are notoriously poor, has a 42 percent favorable rating against a 50 percent unfavorable rating, for a net of -8 points. Those are bad numbers, but nowhere near as bad as Trump’s.
This is not just a recent phenomenon; Trump’s favorability ratings have been consistently poor. It’s true that his favorability numbers improved quite a bit among Republicans once he began running for president. But those gains were almost exactly offset by declines among independents and Democrats. In fact, his overall favorability ratings have been just about unchanged since he began running for president in June:
Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
This election is going to be fascinating. The two least liked candidates are likely going to win their respective parties' nominations. It will be interesting to see voter turnout. Will people just stay home or will their hatred for either candidate drive them to vote for the other?

You compare a vibe.com report (who the fuck is vibe.com) in response to the anchor from MSNBC being shocked a black person is at a trump rally?
I never saw the vibe report before. Horrible if true they did that to that woman. What pieces of shit.
But that is an ugly event.
My MSNBC post is about the media pushing an agenda.
Both are bad, but the trump rally wrong doesn't make MSNBC a "right"

This has happened more than once. I don't care about the report. I'm saying there's a reason he's attracting white supremacists.
