Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
Horse shit.
Is this the time for us to play pretend again and live in a temporary fantasy land where you say Reagan's two terms were a disaster, economy down the toilet, then when facts are pointed out to you, you do a 180 and say Reagan was a smashing success but he had no hand in it whatsoever and you credit Carter and the Fed for the 1980s?
Let's do that one again. I need a good laugh right now.
Before you go into a rage, yeah I know the Fed played a role in the economic recovery. The problem is that you wont credit Reagan. Instead you give the credit to Carter..... who was an imbecile.
One other thing, don't try to school me on Iran Contra. You'll lose and even if it could somehow come out a draw, I'm not in the mood for a lengthy debate on Iran Contra. If/when I get the "all clear" on my health issues, I'll gladly start a new thread where we discuss the pros and cons of the Reagan years. You, Cramer, maybe Bri, Acquiesce, etc. on one side and me, Buzz, SG, and Flagg on the other. It'll be like an episode of Crossfire.
I don't ever remember flip flopping, but i did bring up Reagan used Carter's economic advisers, which is never mentioned, and his failures that are never admitted.
Here's something to chew on:
The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any U.S. president
1. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant rigging
2. Lobbying scandal
3. EPA scandals
4. Inslaw Affair
5. Savings & loan crisis
6. Operation Ill Wind
7. Wedtech Scandal
8. Debategate
That was without mentioning Iran Contra per your request.
Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
The Muslim ban, the David Duke denial, the “Mexican” judge flap, the draft dodger denigrating John McCain’s military service, the son of privilege attacking an immigrant Gold Star mother and the constant revisionism and lying about past political positions taken are but a few of the lowlights that have punctuated Donald Trump’s chaotic chase for the presidency.
Any one of these offenses would have disqualified any other candidate for president. But the Republican nominee remained competitive against a historically weak Democratic nominee on the promise of bringing radical change and dramatic disruption to Washington.
That appears to be changing. Post-convention polls show Trump falling behind by double digits both nationally and in must-win swing states like Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Virginia.
And the political ride will only get rockier for Trump in the coming days after he suggested that one way to keep a conservative Supreme Court after Hillary Clinton got elected would be to assassinate her or federal judges. Trump and his supporters have been scrambling wildly all day to explain away the inexplicable, but they can stop wasting their time. The GOP nominee was clearly suggesting that some of the “Second Amendment people” among his supporters could kill his Democratic opponent were she to be elected.
The presidential candidate that House Speaker Paul Ryan endorsed tried to explain away his suggestion of an assassination by telling Sean Hannity his comments were meant to unite supporters before the election. It’s too bad for Trump and his supporters that his comments related to what Hillary Clinton would do after being elected and nominating Supreme Court justices that gun owners would not like.
We are in unchartered waters but that does not mean that the way forward is not clear. It is.
The Secret Service should interview Donald Trump and ask him to explain his threatening comments.
Paul Ryan and every Republican leader should denounce in the strongest terms their GOP nominee suggesting conservatives could find the Supreme Court more favorable to their desires if his political rival was assassinated.
Paul Ryan and every Republican leader should revoke their endorsement of Donald Trump. At this point, what else could Trump do that would be worse than implying the positive impact of a political assassination?
The Republican Party needs to start examining quickly their options for removing the Republican nominee.
A bloody line has been crossed that cannot be ignored. At long last, Donald Trump has left the Republican Party few options but to act decisively and get this political train wreck off the tracks before something terrible happens.

You're starting to sound like Trump.
I can call it as it is...I'm not running for president. Anyone voting for Hillary loses the right to call anyone simplistic. Why is he voting for Hillary? It appears it's because she's not trump. Can't get more simplistic than that.
Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
I`m a conservative through and through but I think Trump will be a disaster as POTUS. He`s a clown and a buffoon in fact, I think entire U.S. Political system is fucked I mean, you gentlemen, have to make a choice between a greedy, power hungry cunt ( Hillary ) and a fuckface ( Trump ), can`t get any worse than that.

John Kasich was the guy. America didn't agree with me.
Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
I believe Trump knows what he's doing. The constant statements are all an act. A man of his intelligence would not keep doing it if he didn't have a plan. The allegations that he's throwing it for Hillary doesn't hold water imo. First off it's a conspiracy theory of such a level even I would be impressed, second it's not like Hillary and the establishment needs such elaborate scheming to make President. She's got the entire weight of the media and big business behind her, what else do you need?
I think he's doing it to stay in the spotlight and perhaps to tire people out? These statements doesn't really hurt him all that much, but it does get people used to seeing it happen. If he does want to pivot he can pretty much do it in any direction he likes, and if he doesn't he will have gotten more free air time than any candidate in history.

He's bad on abortion and legalization, but he was my favorite. Don't like all his tax positions either, but he's fairly liberal on some social issues, like gay marriage. His immigration policy is mostly common sense as well.
Re: 2016 Presidential Election Thread
Hillary is so disliked that I think she did need Trump in the race. It's pretty hard to find someone more disliked than her. She may have succeeded. If she was up against a better candidate (any better candidate), she'd be in deep shit. She's not, at least not from the Republicans. The longer this goes on, the more this looks like it was rigged from the beginning, and given the rigging of the Democratic nomination, nothing would surprise me. The only potential saving grace is getting someone like Gary Johnson onto the national stage to destroy both of them, which I am confident he would easily do given both of their lack of popularity.
She seriously has no qualifications to be president. None. She did nothing as a senator and she was a complete and utter failure as Sec of State, which she wasn't qualified for either, but got thanks to her support of BO. So how can she win? Find someone with equal qualifications that can't keep his mouth shut.
