$lashba being mixed so low is obv on purpose. someone somewhere along the line has obv decided to do it out of spite. not saying it was a GnR decision, but someone in the line of production must have an issue w/dj & chosen this as a way to get at him.

You'd think someone along the line would QA this and go, "hang on, this mix is bad, where's that guitar?" and it would get sorted.  Unless they are all out to get Ashballs, which I dont think is the case.

Its just another lame thing, like the CD cover being wrong too. If I were Axl, I'd have given someone a right ear bashing over this, its inexcusable for a bRand of this size really.

I don't really think they care tbh.  At this point I think Axl is doing everything he can to cash out on this band without getting anything to Slash because it's related to the old band.  Everybody is talking about moving forward and recording and whatever else, but it's never coming from Axl or management.  I suspect he'll milk this as long as he can and if he never gets what he wants from the record company to move forward (which he won't), then he will tap into the old stuff when he needs that money because the new band isn't profitable anymore.

I have no proof to support it, it's just a hunch based on the activity (or inactivity).

That's a shitty place to be for the fans, and the guys in the band isnt it.

Thing is, if its true, and Axl / Team Brazil dont really care, its not like they can come out and say it, be straight about it, they gotta keep the pretence up. So when DJ says their writing, and want to record, it serves Axl well, even if they are 100 miles from doing any of that.

The problem is, apart from Ron maybe, no one seems to speak out about Axl. Buckethead and Robin both kept their silence when they left.

The next time DJ brings it up in a meeting, the interviewer should challenge him. Ask him why its been so long without anything to show.

well nobody talks to Robin or BH
or any of the rest of them for that matter.
but my point is their silence has already been bought & paid for
if you're getting 10 grand a month you're not gonna jeopardize that my talking about your boss. & BH & Finck have no reason to talk about him or the process, there's no benefit in it for them.
the only guys who openly talked about their frustrations w/axls procrastination are the original guys. they thought they had the power to do so..

I swear, this band defies logic. If its not one thing, it's something else.

this is very true. they don't act logically at all. the people making the decisions are some kind of mix of really insane & really stupid. you know who is what.
so it goes.

Seriously, how often does a TV station devote 5 continuous hours to one band? I can't even imagine what the reason may be for pulling this at the last second, but I do know that it's just another in an ever growing line of missed opportunities. I'd like to say I hope they get things resolved but I refuse to keep going down that road.

Even on live era, the touch ups are not meant to sound like studio, but to sound "live". There may not be. Any, that said at times it look like the voice and video were not perfectly in sync. That could have been because of a number of reasons. He did sound great at times...  He sounded really good at the Atlanta show I went to. Haha, even if Axl started to do touch up, he likely didn't finish, which is why the first 3 songs are killer and the rest sounds weaker. Haha. Just kidding.

Yeah, but they still sounded damn great. This doesn't really compare.

But if they were, the bold part would certainly be a possibility. No wonder they can't even release live albums if Axl has to do new vocals on it. 16

Ever wonder if that's why Ron is so vocal out of all of them? I could be wrong, but I think he's probably got the most going outside of GN'R. So I wonder if from him it's kind of a "Go ahead and fire me if you want because I'm still gonna speak my mind" situation.

Possibly, but even for him GN'R is a pretty sweet gig. Unless you're already a big star there's not many jobs for a musician guaranteeing you maybe 10k+ month. Even if he only gets something like 5 that's still alright considering the workload.

His talking may still be an attempt to make something happen. That somehow if he can get through to Axl that he doesn't like the late thing, somehow things will change. I doubt he really believes that though, and of course we don't, so why is he doing it? Maybe it's therapeutic or something. Venting stuff in the public domain.
