Where'd you get those terms from? Are those common knowledge? I wasn't aware of that. Well, even if that is indeed the case, Howard has a way of delicately handling his guests and getting them to talk about things they didn't plan on. He handled Slash no differently than any other guest, or any other time he's been on the show.

Those terms are common knowledge...google them and you'll see. Slash's publicist has been doing it since the rock hall and there's been a few articles about it in the media.

I'm pretty sure Howard doesn't agree to any terms from a guest. He won't interview them if he can't talk about what he wants to talk about.
Exactly, that how he operates. And Slash knows that. Everybody does. Like I said before, Howard will abide by the rules but at the same time delicately lead his guests down paths they may not want to go down. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If Slash truly said "enough with the GNR talk", Howard may have backed off for good, or ended the interview. Complaining about it after the fact really doesn't accomplish much.

Slash is a cunt for not wanting to answer questions about Axl in the press.
But when Slash wants a reunion - he's a cunt because he can't expect Axl to forgive him when he keeps talking shit about him in the press.
Pretty much.
And I say the same thing for Axl when he brings up Slash and/or 'possibly' gets pissed if and when Slash gets brought up to him (most people are scared to talk about Slash to Axl because of his nature and rarity of giving interviews).
If Axl were to get pissed because someone brought up, "what do you think of Slash's November Rain solo today"
I'd say FUCK YOU AXL. Slash will always be brought up on some level. Axl was the douche turd that decided to secure the band name and keep playing Slash's songs without him.
It works both ways. Just today Slash was the fucking moron. ESPECIALLY going on Stern, whom he knows pushes it.
Hell Bubba The Love Sponge had the sex scandal with Hulk Hogan, and Howard is BUDDIES with Bubba, and Howard fucking GRILLED Bubba, asking him all kinds of personal questions, and Howard let Robin basically call Bubba a 'flip flopper' and basically a Double Talking Jive Mother Fucker for being buddies with Hogan, than all of the suddenly talk about how much of an asshole Hogan is/was.
That's how Howard treats his FRIENDS. What in the fucking hell did Slash expect? He knows Stern is a HUGE GN'R mark.

That's why I wonder in what context Slash made those comments. Like Buzz alluded to, did HE bring it up to O&A so they wouldn't push the GNR issue themselves, or did O&A bring it up to make it look like THEY were the good guys and Stern was evil? I'm sure Slash hoped, or didn't expect the comments would get back to Stern. But they did, and he wasn't happy about them. As popular as Slash may be, Howard doesn't need him to be successful. So if he, or anyone else has a problem with Stern's interviewing style, they can kindly stay away. He'll do just fine without them.
In the end, Slash, realized he messed up by making those comments so I'd imagine all is forgiven.

The bottom line is GN'R is one of the most legendary bands ever, despite surviving members' attempts to water it down over the years (Axl with his hired Guns "nostalgia act," Slash with his lame collaborations like Fergie, etc.). The band imploded right in the prime of their career and people will never be able to understand why it happened, even though a lot of these people fully expected the whole band to be dead from drugs back in the day. That lack of understanding over the implosion means there will always be questions.

The band's popularity has survived as well, and there is a HUGE HUNGER to see it all put together again. People want to see that. Even if it were handled like Zeppelin, there's an undying appeal to see that again.
And that means there will always be those questions that keep GN'R alive. Their popularity has no died despite only three original LP's.

I understand what you guys are saying, and believe me I agree GNR is timeless.
But you talk like he's been ducking GNR interviews for years and there's unsolved questions.
He's spoken extensively in hundreds of interviews about:
- Why he left GNR
- The final days of GNR
- Creative and other differences with Axl
- The final tours of the band and associated road stories
- What it would take to reunite from his perspective
He also published a BOOK that has a COMPLETE SECTION dedicated to answering that stuff.
It's all been answered and there's no new information.
So he gets his publicist to ask people to focus on the 15 years and 6 albums since that time.....they ignored it...so the publicist called and told them they don't appreciate ignoring their interview terms.
Howard doesn't have to help Slash? Guess what - Slash doesn't have to help howard too - by sensationalising an interview by dragging back over shit he's answered HUNDREDS of times. Don't like it...don't ask him on.
