Slash being drunk was fucking retarded on his behalf alright.

Slash was there, he tried to reach out.
He got shit upon, with a big heap of piss and vinegar for dessert to follow.
And Axl is just trying to "survive this war"????

Do you mean Axl was drunk? Or that the Axl camp is lying? 18

In October of 2005 Slash made an unannounced 5:30 AM visit to Axl Rose’s house. Not appearing to be under the influence, Slash came to inform Axl that: (...)

Face it: Axl is a whiny bitch and a proven manipulator. Is he crazy enough to believe his own lies? Quite possibly.

Agree. I think Axl knows Slash will never do that, so the ball is never in Axl's court. His thing towards Slash has always been, "say in public what you came to my house and said."

Now, what if Slash one day does say, "You know what, Axl was right. I did him wrong. And I'm sorry."

What would Axl do then? Move goal post?

It's possible that Axl was told that Slash had said one thing when actually he'd said another. So Slash will never be able to "say in public what he came to Axl's house and said" to Axl's satisfaction, because what Slash actually said and what Axl believes Slash said are two different things.

Also: fuck this soap opera.

Ahh hey, I wasn't firing at you John, just sayin' in general.

And yes, my mates and I used to love getting hammered on a Friday and getting into it with the Scientologists who used to try to recruit on one particlar city corner.
The days of my youth!

Those Dicks on Abbey St ? They nabbed me one night for a "personality test". Fucking weird bastards. Didn't take it of course, just laughed in their faces... angrily.

On topic: Axl is a dick, Slash is less of a dick. And between the two stands the Lebeis family, the only ONLY people on the face of the planet who stand to lose big time from a gnr reunion. Go figure.

Gimme a break.

If you go back and read the press release on the subject, it sounds like Axl was "hopeful that Slash would live up to his pronouncements that he wanted to end the war and move on with life. Unfortunately that did not prove to be the case."  That last bit being in reference apparently to the lawsuit they filed in regards to the ASCAP royalty checks not being sent to them.

So - and this is not a judgement either way - perhaps any significance the gesture of Slash coming to Axl's house that night/early morning was nullified by the subsequent lawsuit in Axl's eyes.  Again, not saying that's right or wrong, just that's my interpretation from the language in the press release.

This actually reminded me of an interview I heard Billy Corgan give an Aussie radio station where he said when people ask him about reforming the original Pumpkins, his thought is "o.k., which lawsuit should I forget about?"  Meaning, while it may not seem like a big deal to those of us on the outside, perhaps the hassle, in terms of time and/or money, and/or stress of these lawsuits may really piss some people off.

If someone comes over to your house to work things out and you refuse to even speak to them, you can't be surprised or disappointed when that is the next step.
