Re: Commissioner, Women’s Shelter Call GN'R Concerts Ads 'Inappropriate'
What the hell is wrong with the world? Some group complains, so changes must be made. Talk about censorship. If you don't like the painting, don't look at it. Have rape cases been on the rise since the mural went up? If you don't like violence on TV, don't watch it. Don't go running to the TV execs complaining. If you don't like vulgar language, don't listen to it. Don't go complaining to the FCC or record execs. People are ridiculous. Too much time on their hands.

"It glorifies abuse against women"
As opposed to all of the Bud Light commercials that basically make them out to look like dumb reserved whores, that with a beer the panties fly off, which is about the most objectionable, low class, hateful comment against all women, especially intelligent ones.
But I bet they still sling that draft in the place, don't they?
Fuck them. Pussies.

Guns N' Roses - Guns N' Roses Show Adverts Removed Following Outcry
05 November 2012
Controversial posters advertising Guns N' Roses' upcoming Las Vegas residency have been taken down after campaigners accused them of glamorising rape.
Axl Rose's band is performing a series of shows at the Hard Rock Hotel in Sin City until the end of the month (Nov12) and the concerts have been advertised with an image of a woman who appears to have been sexually assaulted under the city's famous 'Welcome' sign.
The picture appeared on posters, billboards and in newspapers, sparking outrage among anti-sexual abuse campaigners.
Hannah Brook, executive director of The Rape Crisis Center, tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "This type of advertising is simply unacceptable. Not only for just the victims and the message of violence it brings, but also for the community in general. This is not the type of message we want to portray to tourists that are coming to our city. We want them to know it's a safe place to come, and by putting a message out there with Las Vegas above it is concerning."
Bosses at the Hard Rock Hotel have now issued an apology and modified all of the adverts.
A statement from the company reads, "Hard Rock Hotel & Casino regrets that the Guns N' Roses advertising for their current shows has offended any member of the community. The resort has decided to further modify the art and began the process of changing the materials (on Friday)."
The band's shows kicked off at the Hard Rock Hotel on Halloween (31Oct12).
"This is not the type of message we want to portray to tourists that are coming to our city."
Indeed, Vegas has always been known for its high morals and cultivated standing.

Wonder if Axl will mention this at the next show?
Shame that they pandered to this kind of nonesense, I'm curious who exactly is walking such a moral tightrope that they're at risk of becoming a sex offender just by seeing a cartoon poster of a robot and a sexually assualted woman. Likewise I wonder how many tourists on their way in to Vegas have seen the poster and turned the car around because it looked unsafe? Like there is a very real risk of robot rape while GNR is in town.

On the bands part, the effect appears uncanny.
If it'd be a tour, puling posters out of circulation could be very bad. Since it's a residency, the audiences are likely to come around throughout. The Vegas residency just made national news, anyway.
Elsewhere in the news, Axl sat down with Edna Gundersen, then Jimmy Kimmel and performed with Neil Young.
Things have been worse.
