So far the closest theater to me is 50 miles away. Hoping for something closer as it gets near the release.

It's supposedly playing in the next town over from me.  I honestly can't see this happening though.  No offense to us diehards, but WHO IN THE HELL would go to see this?  I think I'd be embarrassed to go purchase a ticket and sit in the theater all by myself.  Am I wrong?

That's actualy my favorite way of seeing a movie in the theater 16

i would. i'd take my son whos eleven and accomponied me to the allstate show in '11. i'd also take my eight year old daughter with also cuz i felt she was to young to go to the allstate show. i'l buy the blu-ray to if there is one. always wanted to have a blu ray of the band. sure i'd rather they never broke up and i'd rather a classic old show was done right but hey, this is what i got. i'm a fan of that fucker mr. rose. i dont mind sitting alone in movie theaters. actually prefer it. when i take my kids to a big movie, i like to wait and go when no one is hardly there. also, i actually had this idea of famous concerts being brought to the big screen over 20 years ago. but no, i dont think many people will go to say the least.

Yeah, don't get me wrong.  I think it's cool and all, I just can't see anyone going to see it, outside of us forum junkies.  I'm not an avid moviegoer.  But I wouldn't think movies would last too long in the theater if the demand isn't there.  Are there theaters specialized for documentaries, concerts, etc. as opposed to your typical big budget films?  If that's common, then okay.  But if this is showing the same time a nearby theater is showing the latest Tom Cruise flick, I don't get it.

What they usually do is a "One Night Only" deal for stuff like this. It's not like a regular theater run or something. They usually do it on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday when there's not a big movie opening so they can devote one screen to it. A lot of theaters around us do things like this, plays, WWE and UFC Events.

Alright.  That makes a little more sense then.  Probably is the case here, as the listed showtime by me is Nov. 15th at 7pm.

Thanks for the explanation.  I still don't think attendance will be all that high, but if it's a one time thing I can see the point a lot clearer.

If I wasn't going to a show soon, I'd probably consider going.  I'd rather not potentially spoil the live show by seeing it on a big screen.

Oh I don't expect high attendance either. The Zeppelin one coming up probably won't even do that well. I went to see Elvis On Tour in a one off theater thing a few years ago and there were maybe 15 people in the theater.

It's still cool to see things like that on a big screen for some though.

Yeah. I was actually trying to get a plan together to see Zeppelin in the DC theater; but it's on a Wednesday which is a no go for my friends and I'd just rather get the Blu Ray; so I can watch it anytime I want.

Yeah, I honestly didn't know it worked that way.  I thought it was going to be released like a typical movie, which made absolutely no sense to me.  The way you describe, makes it much more reasonable in my mind.
