Re: Best Band? Buzz vs Lofton
Or start with Rubber Soul too because in my opinion that's where the group and George Martin started to gell together in the studio and started coming out with very deep meaningful songwriting and textures within the music. I love Sgt. Pepper. It's becoming one of my favorite albums, Abbey Road too, and most of the White Album.

Guess what I'm doing now?
haha..Have fun!
Re: Best Band? Buzz vs Lofton
Yeah i know. I also had trouble seeing how eddie van halen would mesh with lennon on vocals.
Well, Lennon is sharing vocals with McCartney and Sting (with a little Mickey Dolenz for a change of pace). If he could play love songs with Sammy, I'm sure he could make this band work.
Re: Best Band? Buzz vs Lofton
Is there a time limit on this? I didn't know the game was starting almost immediately and to add insult to injury, there's simultaneous matchups. I'd like to make my case against Buzz's supposed "dream band" and also comment the other bands. I'm going somewhere. Tomorrow I'll post in each of these match ups.
If we do this again, can we list everything each member will do BEFORE it starts??
Example....
John Lennon (Vocals)
Eddie Van Halen (Lead Guitar)
Keith Richards - (Rhythm Guitar)
Paul McCartney (Bass)
Mickey Dolenz (Drums)
Sting (Utility)
NOWHERE does it state FOUR members of this band will handle lead vocals. Kinda obvious that more than one would but you get the point. Before I even read this thread, his band got to morph which probably influenced the voting. Members of my band had more roles than just playing one instrument but I never got the chance to list them(no one else did either, including Buzz until it was already underway).
Re: Best Band? Buzz vs Lofton
My main issue with his band is its just cherry picked megastars with Dolenz. There's no method to the madness. Lennon/McCartney I get. A similar role in my band that Cornell/Shepherd would have. EVH with KEITH RICHARDS on rhythm? Cant even picture that under any circumstances. Richards is amazing but he wouldn't work in such a role. His role in the Stones for decades speaks for itself. He would NEVER give up such a leadership role and step aside to let EVH noodle all over his fretboard. Same with Eddie. When does he work with other guitarists not named EVH?? This band would go into a studio and hit a brick wall within two hours. Is it a good band on paper? Yes. A capable band able to actually record an album? No chance in hell. That major weakness there puts my band a few notches above his.
You can actually see the chemistry present in my lineup. Cornell/Shepherd for obvious reasons. Bucket can do anything but Justine's style(and Cornell's) would reign him in a bit and keep him grounded. Menza perfectly capable of holding his own in this band. Cornell on lead vocals with Justine doing a few songs and Shepherd doing one. My band could literally walk into a studio today and potentially have two albums ready to release within months.
How in the hell is he winning??
