I really enjoyed the album! 9 I got a few weeks ago with some other new music. I ran it on my crappy laptop that kept messing with the CD at times. Overall, I love the sound of Slash's playing. I agree it's his best playing in a long time and alot of songs have a strong punk, Appetite kind of feel. Myles was in top form vocally and I thought his change in tone on certain songs flowed well. I think he did better on the fast rockers like Love,  Lie, One Last Thrill, Halo and No More Heroes. I was impressed with Anastasia too. The drumming was loud and mean. Todd was great with the choruses and the bass lines synced within the songs. It wasn't groundbreaking though. Not the best rock album of 2012. Still love the new Van Halen album better folks!  Overall, I applaud Slash for making a great rock album and I can't wait to hear what see has in store with the future either with Myles, instrumental stuff or with a new VR concept. 21

Have to kinda agree, as great as Slash's new album is, Van Halen's newie is still (in my opinion) the strongest rock release so far this year. I keep going back to it every few weeks and it's still awesome.

The songs are stronger on Slash. That song bullet head is pure garbage and Dave can't sing.

You keep bringing up one of the weaker songs on ADKOT.  That album blows away Apocalyptic Love.  Sorry, it just does.  Including Bullethead.  Dave was never a great "singer", but that never stopped Van Halen from becoming a legendary band and he himself, one of the greatest lead singers of all time.

That album bores me and I have no need to hear it again. There is no Anastasia level song on that album either.

Same here man! For ADKOT, I have the albums on my two computers and when I get the chance I just bust out a few tracks and helps make my day better by rocking out. Especially Chinatown, Outta Space, and You & Your Blues.  As for Slash's record, I can see only a few songs I could play and jam to on a regular basis; but this is only my first time around the whole album. Maybe if I get a better sound system and play it back and forth one or two times, I'll get a better vibe from it. The main deal with Van Halen's new record was alot of the public expected it be a half ass concept with mostly phoned in lyrics and guitar parts that were all over place. BUT IT WASN'T! They proved that these guys had energy and could still rock your socks off with putting some great songs that sound like old school fast, ass kicking VH. I thank Wolfie for stepping up and trying to get this tour and record together. I'm just glad that there wasn't any songs I hated on Slash's record; but some of the tone shifts in the songs kind of threw off the groove of the album. It's a great rock record and I thought Myles & Slash's collaboration with the other band members was a great change of scenery in today's rock music variety.

It's so weird...i've got ADKOT but just can't get into it to the level you guys do.

I enjoy about 3 or 4 songs on it...not like I hate it...but it's not anywhere near to my favourite albums...even though EVH plays some tasty guitar on it.

As for AL...just gets stronger and stronger for me the more I play with it..I'm officially hardcore fan of this album.
