Slash is easily the best Gnr guitarist ever.....period. No questions ask. He is also playing better than ever right now. I simply stated that you guys are much bigger fanboys of Slash than I am of Axl. That is true. Outside of a few shows and a few songs, Axl hasn't given me any reason to be a fanatic like you guys are. I am an Axlite when dealing with his contributions to the old band...that is it.

I don't think he should have continued on with the Gnr name. I wish Slash and Izzy were the guitar players. That's pretty much my basic Gnr stance. I just wanna hear the rest of the Chinese sessions and be done with this shit.

I personally think a sad state is that I already see GN'R fans, or "the Axlites" already overvaluing the vault.

They're already building it up to be something I guarantee you it isn't, and unfortunately they're just gonna be met with an anti-climax or worse disappointment.

Anybody with some sort of "opinion" on what GN'R is and looking for their 'end' with all of this... if Axl's bullshit letter wasn't an 'end' enough, then you're just a dog chasin' it's tail.

Unless you were blown away by Chinese, there's nothing in that vault that's gonna be much different, and frankly as much as I liked Chinese, Axl's lack of push and direction makes Chinese just a glorified solo record, no different than VR and the numerous Slash & Duff & Izzy records.

In other words, unless Axl gives a major push to the 2009-12 band...

GN'R is dead and ain't coming back -- in any form.

I am not "overvaluing" the vault. Like Axl said, if you don't like this, you probably won't like that. I'll like some, not like some and not give a shit either way about some. I just want to have it all together and released appropriately. He could do a nice boxset with alternate takes, instrumentals, etc. Do the same thing the Beach Boys just did with Smile. Just release it all to your hardcore fans and be done with it....move on.

ps...and of course Chinese is a solo record.
pss I also think he is going to push this band. It doesn't interest me that much, but I know it interests some.

I agree Axl will push this band, but not near on the level of what even the diehards are thinking. Beta is his manager... that alone should tell you. Appearences on late night shows ain't gonna happen, and there's still a major question if Axl isn't gonna push it anymore than a nostagia act at this point. In fairness their last tour had great balance in the setlist, and was probably the best setlist they had done in the new era, but at the same time it's already getting stale, even based on Chinese.

Ehh, there's more complicating factors involved other than "Axl wants to release it". I'm sure Axl would love to prep a DJ album and capitalize on probably his last run with radio-ready rock, but there's still a huge question of how cooperative he is going to be, how helpful UMG will be, and how much the Lebeis Clan will be a sandbagging self-defeating road block.

If the label doesn't want it, and he refuses the reunion... we're right back to square one.
