Re: Hall of Fame Videos
I don't think it's price tag related...i mean the offers are already in the hundreds of millions...
I think Axl might be waiting for that apology.
But it sounded from the Canter interview like he's waiting not only for Slash to apologise for legitimate issues (the Snakepit thing) but also for stuff that Slash doesn't think happened that Axl's post anger analysis has decided happened..(I'd guess stuff like pretending My World was good as part of a deliberate strategy to trick Axl into looking bad).
Slash probably has to phone up, admit he has no talent on guitar, admit he's the devil incarnate, and even then....would it be enough?
People bash Slash for misleading about going to Axl's house. But what was he doing there? He didn't turn up to chat about how annoying Matt is at first instance. He went there to work it out with Axl. But not only wasn't he allowed to see Axl. But Axl's people then put out a statement designed to break up VR too.

Re: Hall of Fame Videos
Problem is, Slash knows he has won court of public opinion. SO there is an underlying chance, he could admit to all that, lose court of public opinion THEN Axl tell him to go fuck himself and then he'd be double fucked.
It's very likely after the house visit. Slash went there to make peace, he dropped the lawsuit a few days/weeks later and what he got in exchange? That dirty open letter by the Axl camp, half a years later, that's only motivation was diminishing him and his band.
Re: Hall of Fame Videos
Obviously that was strategic on their part... but frankly with the constant media talk Slash has done over the years, I can't blame them for wanting to strike first.
I also don't believe Beta kept Slash from Axl, I believe Axl wasn't there or hid inside the house refusing to see Axl.
Axl might be in a better frame of mind today, but he still wants to very much keep the feud going with Slash.
I still believe that one day they will reunite.
I do too, but it's not gonna be ANYTIME soon.
They'll do it years later like The Eagles when it means literally fucking nothing and so many people have moved on or died, that it's a total anti-climax.
Which leaves me with -- what's the fuckin' point?

a bit of over analyzing? They are not going to do it....let it go.
What he said.
Thirded. You guys know how i've felt on this situation for years, and over the disaster that was Axl's letter, i'm done with it. The reunion ain't happening, and it's so fuckin' talked to death there is literally NO reason to even bring it up anymore.
I guess if there's any slight positive to come out of it, was Axl's letter actually did leave the door cracked open for Slash... but it's gonna take Slash swallowing "his cool factor" (what the fuck ever Mr. American Idol), and calling Axl and totally jobbing to him.

Re: Hall of Fame Videos
Idle thought - has anyone thought of taking Axl's monitor mix audio from Download or Osaka and dialling up his vocals as far as possible, then dialling down Myles' vocals on the HOF gig as far as possible and layering Axl into the mix? It wouldn't sound perfect, but it'd be an approximation of GN'R reunited...

Would only work if both drummers are spot on tempo wise.
