you gonna do the whole song? cuz the part that is my favorite is leading up to and including the killswitch then the breakdown where he goes "never wanted you to be so full of anger...." so if you dont do the whole song at least do that part please

who knows the full SCOM intro including the ending of it? cuz i cant seem to get the end of the intro riff right for some reason

yes but to me it sounds like hes struming it with a wah effect or something and not picking it
like i hear 8 notes and there is like 14 in the tab ... know what i'm sayin?
Not sure I fully get what you mean. I dunno if this is the technical term but he's kind of pedaling against the note at 14 on the G string....so like the 8 notes you probably hear are the high ones on the E string..but every time he hits one of those he slams the 14 on G down follwing it which creates that wah sort of sound I guess?? Or have I totally missed your point?

will watch that in a bit...but are you saying that the notes on the g string are hammer-ons and not actual picked notes?
cuz on top of not being able to quite get it down...i'm having a hell of a time goign from the finger placements on the intro to actually getting to the outro of the intro...haha (if that made any damn sense 
)
i already had to reteach myself the intro cuz before i just barred the 12th fret and played it all, but i relearned it to actually have my fingers moving constantly instead (cuz i noticed thats how slash does it in that vid up there when they first did that show and it was put up on youtube)

Nah sorry i wasn't really saying it's hammered...although i've never looked at that aspect of it - just like they follow on quick...so like if you're hearing less notes than on the page it could be your ears focusing on on high string notes and treating the other note as like a "drone" effect. Not sure if that makes sense to you - my hearing can play tricks sometimes...it's why i've started mostly learning by ear - cos sometimes I look at the actual tab and it just doesnt mean anything to me!
You raise some good points about the fingering...i'm off to work now but later I might go video hopping and see if it's more obvious anywhere...the devil is in the detail with slash's parts...they seem simplistic compared to some metal but it's so hard to do it just like he does it....

sorry for the guitar geek thread jack....so yeah official live footage from GnR...wtf is that all about?
tbh...in typical guitar player fashion a drummer is a drummer is a drummer...not much in gnr has made me say wow in terms of drums aside from the odd fill in NR or the intro to YCBM...so yeah I guess Matt is the standout drummer of record for me...the disco type cymbal shit is cool in Riad but i dunno if that is drum machine or Brain
