Re: Duff Book
Got Duff's book Friday and finished reading it Saturday.
Was a pretty good read, more about his personal journey than a tell all GNR book, though I think Duff said this was going to be the case anyhow.
Re the GNR stuff he went pretty easy on Axl IMO. Just the late starts and the name issue were probably the only negative light shed on him.
Not surprisingly it was a much better book than Adlers. Compared to Slash's harder to say. Again it felt like Duff's was more about his personal story and development whilst Slash seemed a little broader when speaking about the whole GNR thing etc. Duff tended to focus more on himself and where he was at and his demons without touching too much on everybody elses journey.
Personally I think he went pretty easy on Axl as did Slash in his book. A cynic might say they wish to ensure that any future options are kept open....
That said, the vibe I got from reading Duff's book is that he is actually over most of the shit. It happened so long ago, and he has moved on and developed personally so much since then that it doesn't really matter anymore. It's not woth holding on to crap about he said this, or he did that, just move forward. - A good space to be in.
Re: Duff Book
that's the vibe i get from him ^ tho i do detect some rancour still exists from time to time. understandable.
just ftr - it's gig week in bfast this week
you can go see the answer & therapy? together for £16
ash, the divine comedy & the undertones are sharing a bill for charity, each playing thru one of their classic albums (ash doing 1977) all for the same price as loaded
in fact, out of the hundreds of gigs this week, the single concert more expensive than duff is elvis costello. everything else is below duff's asking price except for the charity show which is the same price. & is for charity.

See the problem there is that The Answer are better than Loaded. Therapy? are probably on par with GNR Ash are better than loaded the undertones are about as good as loaded and the divine comedy are just fucking great fun.

Re: Duff Book
I got a copy of their first album for free at my old job, and I had one listen and couldn't even make it through the first few tracks. Just found it very bland.
