If in some manner Axl does guest... it'd give some glimpse into a Slash-less reunion.

(which I don't care what anyone says would still be pretty bad ass)

Yeah, that's true, but not to the general public. The average Joe would be satisfied with Axl and Slash + current GNR members, Tommy, Richard and Frank. The majority would consider that a significant enough reunion. Not to us, but I think we'd all accept it at the end of the day, just knowing what we know about how hard it would be to get those 2 on stage.

BUT...

It wouldn't happen without the other guys. Then comes the Matt/Steven problem..... I really think if there was a reunion tour, new album, Matt gets the job. Steven would get the HOF gig. Which would lead to Steven being on another season of celebrity rehab.

But still, the whole prospect of Slash and Axl getting together, realistically... Just not happening, imo. That's not even talking tour, new album, just one show. And the more time that passes it reinforces my belief.

I would much rather have Axl, DJ, Izzy, Duff, Matt & Dizzy in a reunion than Axl & Slash + the 2010 band.

Any reunion, Steven isn't gonna be more than a recurring guest star (ala Izzy in 2006).

I used to think the more time went on, the more Axl & Slash would get together, and I still might... but i'm really struggling. Axl isn't far removed from Slash, because he's still running around playing his songs... but Slash seems so far removed and disconnected from GN'R, that I don't think he even cares anymore about that reunion.

But I DO think that we will see a GN'R with Axl, Izzy & Duff in some shape or form down the line. Especially as Izzy & Duff get more interested in that paycheck just for security.

I simply would be blown away if it were just an Axl and Slash reunion. I mean, that would shock the hell out of me. And when I look at some of the old concerts, I think that would be more interesting.

That might be because I think Axl playing with Duff and Izzy will happen and it wouldn't be a shock.

Which is why 40-50% of his setlist with Ozzy was AFD? 16

Lol, yeah but that's his legacy. No different than Axl. Slash has done much more post-UYI than Axl, so even in the 11 songs he played, he was still able to spend the other half performing non-GN'R stuff. Can Axl say that? Almost never, at least combining all shows from 2001-to the present.

What I meant was that Axl is apart of GN'R, because he chose to carry that torch/burden. Slash walked, and although stays tied to his roots, did other things and re-invented himself a few times over. Lately in interviews, and just his overall attitude, he seems to be done talking GN'R, done talking Axl, and just seems to removed from it all in his head.

Sure he plays half-GN'R sets, because that's why I and his fans want, but as far as Slash is concerned - it's all in the past.

Axl on the other still remains hung up on Slash's departure, at least as of interviews conducted in 2009, and no matter where Axl's at, how much success he has with new Guns or solo... he's always gonna get that "reunion" question, because he wanted "daddy's company" as JR would call it. Axl wanted GN'R the business, and he gets all the awards and fuckin' nightmare headaches and reunion questions that comes with it.

Slash's shadow will always tower over him no matter where he takes Guns. As long as he performs any songs from 1991 or earlier.
