Because a new band is absolutely fucking worthless if Axl REFUSES to release material. CD II is a bigger fucking stretch than a reunion. Realize it, accept it, and deal with it. And I say that as a CD fan.

This might be insane optimism...but I feel the logjam was broken with CD's release...maybe i'm wrong but I just have a feeling the follow up won't be as bad a wait. Maybe i'm wrong...but I dunno...I can't see Axl and Slash making up any time soon. I think CD2 is the most likely progression for the band at this stage....all be it in a year or two at least I'd guess.

CD2 will be the end of GnR, which is why it will probably be another 14 years before it comes out.  People were curious about CD, some people even bought it, but it went nowhere.  That curiosity is gone.  I said it a while ago and I'll say it again: CD2 is Libertad no matter how good it is.  Axl had one shot and he blew it.  His only chance now is a reunion.

He blew it how?

It's like you put the ground rules on how this game is played after the game was played and then you can declare yourself victorious. What if the rules of the game was totally different than the parameters you put in?

It went nowhere as in how? What were you expecting from it? What were the record label expecting from it? Most importantly, what did Axl expect from it?

His only chance towards what exactly? Huge success? The dude doesn't really want to be in the spotlight! That's at least parameter 1. The guy involved actually has to be interested in it. And he's not.

Let's put it this way.

I wrote a book. I never set any goal of reaching top 10 sales in the country. Did I blew it? Was it my only chance?

My book sold about 1500 copies which is lame as fuck to some, but quite well to me because I know all there is to know about what went on.

Did I stop writing books just because the book sold shit?

No.

I'm actually finishing up another story right now, going on 150 pages.

If someone wants to compare a possible release on that book as "Libertad" then I'm mighty fine with it because I don't write the book for anyone else but me. I want to sell a few copies obviously, but my artistical interest lies in what I create, and not if I reach say top 100 in book sales in the country. I don't want to go to gay book parties to talk shit. I don't want to lecture in front of hippies and communists about the deep meaning of my book. I want NONE of it. I just want to write my books because I fucking like to write it.

Maybe Axl feels the same eh?

Maybe he doesn't. Maybe he wants to the rule the fucking rock world. If so, Chinese Democracy blew it big time. In fact, he can go home today because he will NEVER reach any of that shit.

And if someone said my book number two would be the end of my writing, I would fucking smack them in the mouth.

I'm sorry, but if you create stuff, books, music, paintings, it is the creator who sets the ground rules as to what he wants with his products, not others.

I never knew what Axl put in the "This I Love" deal about the fact the hesitated in actually releasing it. I know what he's talking about now. I don't write stuff to please others, I do it because I like it.

But hey, if GNR wanna be big and Axl wanna be man number 1, then he's truly on the wrong road, so in that case you're 100% correct in what you say.

Ever come to think that he uses the name because he actually LIKES the songs played and the possibilities it gives him and the audience?

It's his band. It's his brand, he developed it. He never bailed on it. He can do what he wants with it. So yeah, he can tour with HIS band's name.

It's hard to take the predictions of someone seriously when they are constantly proven wrong... This is the end of GNR <insert various times throughout the years here>... CD will never come out... ext...

CD sold well, especially considering how it was released. It got great reviews. It was a great album. It was not a failure, to the shagrin of a lot of bitter people.

Cant see Axl ever getting a gig like that ever. Whats gonna happen if hes not in the right frame of mind or his butler dont wake him?
He's a hell of a performer but his professional reputation is one of someone who is pathalogically tardy and unreliable. Though it would be pretty hilarious to see the Superbowl half time show being an hour late 14

Not really. Cause Axl controls everything and he's the laziest fucker on the planet, not to mention his mood changes. Face it, Axl's living the life of millionaires, he's not an underground genius. He needs money and he loves money, I don't care what he and his puppets are lying. But Axl gets enough money from the AFD nostalgia tours with the fake Guns N' Roses sticker on it, and from the old catalogue. He does need no reunion and no other album in the next few years He doesn't have to work with people he hates and he doesn't have to work with people he has no trust in. This is the best possible scenario for Axl: he doesn't have to work, and can play GTA or whatever 8 hours a day.
