Ouch! Bad luck Russ. They started in April in Chicago and Detroit.
Check their site for the remaining tourdates. http://kvelertak.com

Gonna bump this thread of mine from a few years ago...
Kvelertak is my cousin's band, they just released their second album, it debut at #1 here in Norway.
At the moment they are on tour in the US.
They played in San Fransisco a few days ago. My cousin got to meet James Hetfield who was at the gig headbanging and (according to my cousin) highfiving with the Crown-Prince of Norway who was also at the gig! Hetfield raved about the gig on his Instagram (@papa_het_)
On Wednsday May 8th, they played at The Roxy in LA. Del James was at the gig and apparantly had a great night out!
He's been posting about them on his FB the last few days:
"Kvelertak KILLED IT @ The Roxy Theatre tonight!"
"Attention American rock & roll bands. Please step it up. You are getting your asses kicked by Kvelertak!"
My cousin is also a HUGE gnr-fan. So he was really stoked about Del coming to see them!

Interesting.
The "soft" master is highly noticeable when compared to other modern records.
For my part, in general, it's non-pc to say, but I tend to appreciate loud masters in rock music.
The hipsters talk about dynamic range but to me that's best left for classical music. Seriously where's the "soft" moment in having a rock band in the room with you? The 100w marshall amps? The scream Axl would pull out? The slight pain as a guy like frank hits the snare or cymbal.
I don't buy it.
There used to be soft moments in records only because there had to be. If you recorded drums how drums actually sounded you'd have no headroom left for anything else on the record...so you had to have them quiet. But in real life rock music is loud. So turn it the fuck up - forget about dynamic range and go to town is what I say
Seems to me like you don't understand what the "loudness war" is all about.
Or you just give the impression you don't understand. If that's the case, my apologies!
This video explains the concept pretty clearly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPwqhJhDjYI
The are many many parts on many ChiDem-tracks that would sound very different had it gone through the "loudness war" process.
Thank God Axl is a stubborn guy!

Saw this over at MSL's site. I just recently started browsing over there.
Skip to around 6:30. Bob Ludwig talks about mastering CD, that Axl had it mastered a few places before coming to him and that Axl was not willing to back off of having a dynamic sounding album.
Original thread on MSL's site. http://mistersaintlaurent.proboards.com … hread=8851
Quite a few interesting threads and info there from time to time....

I don't think they are touring as an excuse for not having time to do any recording.
I'm pretty sure the next album will be 99% ChiDem-era songs. And so it should be. At least in my POV.
Axl has talked about it being a "hard walk" in the US when it comes to nu-GNR. Maybe the last 2/3 years of US activity is a strategic move.
And now we most likely will see an official DVD/BluRay-release to further cement the new era into the general public.
And if we will see CDII later this year or sometime next year, it's not a bad plan going forward.

Looks like a couple dates are turning into a little mini-tour.

I've thought for a long time going back to 02 with how good these fan vids are that GN'R should run a contest to make one of these their official video.
Agree! Wasn't it Nine Inch Nails who uploaded a shitload of gigabytes of proshot videofiles to a torrentsite and said to the fans "Go nuts, make a cocertvideo, send it to us, we'll pick a winner and that one is the next official release" (or something like that...)?
Oh, the things you can do when you're not tied to a label.....

Here's a pretty cool one he did for Madagascar. I hadn't seen this one either...
He replaced the different moviequotes with quotes from The Crow. Not sure if I like it better, but it's def not awfull.

Couldn't see this one posted here yet. Awesome as usual!
This guy must be getting close to doing a video for every song on CD!

I think the trailer looks great and I'm pretty excited about this release.
Also, I recently bought myself an FULL HD with 3D projector and a 100" screen!
So I'm ready!
Hopefully this is the one that will finally be a new official release from GNR.
At least it seems promising when the end of it says "ROCK FUEL MEDIA and BLACK FROG MUSIC and INTERSCOPE RECORDS presents...."
Black Frog is Axl's label/publishing/whatever-company, right?
I completely understand that these sort of trailers/ads have a focus on the hits. But considering it's called Appetite for DEMOCRACY, they could at least have thrown in one CD-song....
